The volcano you chose is found on a divergent margin, where eruptions tend to be less violent. It's not likely that it could produce an eruption explosive enough to blow itself apart and result in the demise of a civilization. But Minoan civilization was centered in the Mediterranean.

Santorini is in Crete on a convergent margin where large, explosive stratovolcanoes are more common. It is starred on the map below.
