Converting Metric to English Volume

Example #1: Converting 0.5 liter to quarts.
STEP 1: Write the measurement to be converted (0.5 liter), and then the conversion factor. The unit "liter" will be in the denominator and the unit we are converting to, "quarts," will be in the numerator.

STEP 2: Cancel out the similar units
(Hint: Cross out "l").

STEP 3: Now multiply, and divide:
