Converting Metric Lengths
Example #1: Converting 2500 meters to kilometers.

STEP 1: Write out the measurement to be converted and the conversion factor. The unit "meters" is in the denominator and the unit that you are converting to, "kilometer," is in the numerator. Use the conversion factor "1 kilometer (km) = 1000 meters (m)."
