Converting Metric to English Mass
Example #1: Converting from 2,400 kilograms to tons.

STEP 1: Write the measurement to be converted (2,400 kilograms) and then the conversion factor. The unit "kilograms" will be in the denominator and the unit that you are converting to, "tons," will be in the numerator.

STEP 2: Cancel out the identical units
(Hint: Cross out "kg").
