Converting English Lengths

Example #1: Converting 3 feet into inches.
STEP 1: Write out the measurement to be converted (3 feet), then the conversion factor. The unit "feet" will be in the denominator, and the unit you converting to, "inches," will be in the numerator.

STEP 2: Cancel out the identical units
(Hint: Cross out "feet" and "foot").

STEP 3: Now multiply, and divide:
