Glass

Glass is highly recyclable. Bottles can be melted down into liquid glass, which is then poured into molds to make new bottles.

You can put the following measures into place to reduce the amount of glass going into the landfill by 2 percent:

  • provide curbside recycling of glass bottles and jars
  • recycle the glass left in drop-off recycling dumpsters placed throughout the city
  • allow residents to drop off glass recyclables at city recycling centers

These measures will cost $30 to $45 thousand dollars.
