Motor Oil

Every year, people who change their own oil dispose of an estimated 250 million gallons of used motor oil improperly. Because it contains high levels of lead and hydrocarbons, used motor oil is highly toxic. When improperly disposed of, the oil can poison plants and wildlife and seep into groundwater. One gallon of motor oil can pollute one million gallons of drinking water.
