I would characterize the author's politics as being liberal in nature. She sees her people and her sex as a meer commodity in our democratic and capitalist society. I would respond to the work's "call to action" by having parental volunteers go into the elementary schools. They can assist in teaching the children that they have something to contribute in this country, our society and our world. The color of our skin or our gender does not matter. Unfortunately, they may not be getting such an education at home.
