The line about trust that we have somehow lost moved me most. That children give us such absolute trust when they are young is one of their most endearing qualities. That few adults are very trusting speaks volumes about our life experiences. As evidence, this isn't actually the line that caught me first; it IS a second reading. The first was the "so sweet" refrain.
