In the Images of World Literature slideshow, you saw images inspired by The Bhagavad Gita. Here at Connections, you can find modern interpretations, analyses, and performances of Krishna's teachings and Arjuna's story.

Movies/Popular Interpretations/TV/Performance

  • Satyagraha—an opera by American composer Philip Glass first performed in 1980, which shows how Mahatma Gandhi developed his concept of non-violent protest in South Africa (satyagraha means "truth-force"). The opera opens with Arjuna and Krishna in conversation, and this part is sung in Sanskrit.
  • "The Bhagavad Gita"—TV series dramatizing the story of the Gita (live-action, vivid re-enactments).
