  • What conjecture is the student able to make on her own?
  • How does the student justify this conjecture?
  • What is the limitation of the student's conjecture?
  • How does the teacher help the student find a general pattern for any number of rods? Can you think of another approach?
  • What question might you ask to help the student clarify her explanation in the last question?
