This is the simulation of a display of LHC detector information in the event of a Higgs being produced. Careful measurement of the energy and other properties of the tracks of the outgoing particles will allow experimentalists to reconstruct what might have happened at the collision point. Any one "Higgs event" could be a random accident, while collections of millions of these types of events, along with careful analysis, can give physicists confidence they are seeing something new.
