[Teacher-talkmeasurement] 6-8 Classroom Activities on Measurement

I think it is very important for students to participate in measurement activities in the sixth through eighth grades because it makes learning more hands-on and students are able to see the application of the skill in the real-world. Studying and learning only from a book is abstract and kids don't see the importance or the application to the real-world setting. If we want students to apply the skills in everyday life, we need them to be able to learn in that way. By using activities and manipulatives, it gives students this opportunity and then helps them to conceptually understand the concepts and make connections to the application to the real-world.
