This was the first time I have ever used Geometer Sketchpad and was
impressed with how efficient, fun and easy it made evaluating geometric
shapes and properties. It is a wonderful tool for proving relationships
between parallel lines and transversals. It is also provides a much more
efficient way for quickly testing many iterations of an inscribed angle. I
could see kids really enjoying using this tool because it is quick, and less
cumbersome than using pencil and paper. It is also fun to quickly see the
results of your constructions.
I am wondering if anyone has had experience using this in the classroom. Do
the students enjoy using it? How long does the process of learning the
tools in the software program take before they can really begin
constructions? Do any students find it frustrating or difficult to use?
Your thoughts on this subject would be helpful!
