The scatter plot, an essential component in this session, provides a graphical representation for bivariate data and for studying the relationship between two variables. Throughout this session, you will consider the connection between the graphical representations of concepts and numerical summary measures.

Remember that each person in the data is represented by the coordinate pair (X, Y), or one point in the scatter plot.
