Channel-Talk for The Learning Classroom
[Teacher-talklearning] session 4 cont.
I also appreciate Romito's comment toward the end of the video, about how although it's a confidence building experience (allowing students to utilize their strength in creating a skit), just gaining confidence does not achieve the objectives of the lesson. There's a funny SNL skit that comes on from time to time about high school students. They might be in a classroom setting, and encouraging another student to get up and try something in particular, and the motivation is that they cannot fail if they try....and just trying is good enough. I see that a lot in the culture of students today. They try, but don't try their best, and then expect to be rewarded for it.
