Hi Mary Alice:
I also found the initial reading from How People Learn to be most
interesting. It made me re-think what teaching might look like 20 years
from now, if we really do make use of the new information on the mind and
how people learn. I am a classroom teacher from Mass (Martha's Vineyard) -
grades 6-8. I've been pleased with the information that I am gleaning from
the course thus far. The videos have given me many ideas for my
classroom. I am encouraged to let the students experiment more - especially
when they want to try a way that is different from mine. I sometimes forget
that the mistake can be more educational then the pointed way! I am also
excited by the idea of involving family members. My students would love to
have their family members come in to share some of their life stories and
ethnic differences.
Nancy
