Virtual Lab: Wrap Up
In this lab, we’ve investigated how the forces between different kinds of particles can help to explain the macroscopic phenomenon of dissolving. We’ve discovered that the forces between the object being dissolved (the solute) and the material doing the dissolving (the solvent) must be at least as strong as the forces holding the particles of the solute together.
