Variation
As a class, examine a variety of canine species.

Adaptation
Locate habitat/origin of species being studied.
Identify characteristics that would help the species to survive in that environment.
Explain how/why such adaptations are necessary for survival.
Identify characteristics that would make the species vulnerable in a different type of environment.
Natural Selection
Explain why certain species would survive over others in a particular environment.
Hypothesize how species would fare if dramatic changes occurred in the environment (warming, cooling, drought, excess rain/snow)
