[Channel-talklife] LS Session 1

From: Melissa McCann <mkmcc74@yahoo.com>
Date: Mon Jan 15 2007 - 21:02:46 EST

As a sixth grade teacher in Massachusetts, I address the question, "What is life?" through the study of cells. Students will learn that organisms are made of cells, examine the differences between plant and animal cells, and study the functions of cells and their parts. This is my first year teaching science to sixth graders, so I am curious to find out what their ideas are about "life" and eager to offer them authentic experiences to help learn.
