    Hi everybody,
My name is Bill and I teach 7th and 8th grade science here in Elizabeth NJ with some 5th and 6th grade electives thrown in. We have just finished a major NJ state Level standardized science test (GEPA) for the 8th grade and the field is now clear for participation in this CPB Life Science process. I will try to view the first section this week. We are in the New Jersey inter-season here, with my doors frozen shut this morning and a lovely spring day three hours later. Hoping you are all well,
    Bill

Dear Mary and others watching on VoD,

Actually, our streaming server went down this morning, so that is
likely to be the problem! We hope to have this problem fixed soon,
please check back. I'll try to email this list again when the
problem is fixed, as well, and once it is I can verify if these
particular VoDs are having problems (it's possible, as they just went
    up yesterday).

It's great to hear that you're using both the live feed and the VoD
to your advantage. Using the VoD as a review tool is a great idea --
it's much easier to see the video on a TV if you have the luxury of a
Channel feed or a video tape, but the VoD is convenient in that you
can jump around within it and access it at any time, anywhere there
is a broadband connection. That is, when our servers are up and
    running!

Also, in response to Kim -- our Channel-talk lists have historically
had quite a variety of activity on them. We've had lists with only
one or two posts, which never really got off the ground, and other
lists with hundreds of messages. It really depends on who's taking
the course and at what time, and somewhat on the nature of the course
as well. This course should have plenty of room for channel-talk
interaction, especially once you start your bottle systems (there
will also be an online forum for these, separated out by which system
you choose), and there are apparently lots of people excited to
interact with each other on this list.

    Sincerely,
    Alison Reid
