I am looking for someone to talk with about the class essentials of science: physical science. Is there anyone out there that would like to talk about the information in the class?
Thoughts on session 2...
In my classroom the only opportunity that comes up for me to discuss the particle model would be in my investigation of the water cycle. The students in the video had a great activity with their observations of the liquid in the glasses. I would like to use this idea to begin discussing the particle model. I had never brought the particle model up, I just always talked about the parts of an atom, how atoms make up all matter and are the building blocks, and the discussion from there is very limited. I do talk about the movement of the particles in liquids and talk about how when you heat a liquid the particles get faster and when you cool the same liquid, the particles tend to slow down. Any one have any ideas on how I can incorporate the particle model into my lessons?
I would appreciate any feed back or conversation. Thanks--Neal
