I have been teaching science for 20+ years at the middle school level.
Inquiry based science plans can also be found online at

Click on educator guides for some specific science topics. The DragonFly TV
series is on PBS--contact your local station for more information.
My students have participated the Journey South project that sends the
paper butterflies to Mexico to simulate the Monarch migration. The students
are fascinated by the the fact that these butterflies can do this
multi-generation migration without a GPS or Mapquest! The butterflies we
receive from the other schools are really cool ! I encourage your
participation in this project to teach environmental responsibility and
friendship among the countries involved.

Wow, how exciting! You have a wealth of science projects available
through learner.org. I've used www.journeynorth.org as a supplement to
my district mandate program. All of the activities are very appealing
to students and give them so many opportunities to explore and learn
about their world.
