Hello,
I am new to the discussion group as well. I am going to try to use this
class to help me in the fall, but I am not registering for credit. I am
going to be teaching Chemistry starting in the fall. I have been teaching
biology and will be teaching AP Bio next year as well, so I really need to
brush up on some chemistry and figure out some things to try out in the
classroom.
I was a forensic chemistry major in college and switched careers two years
ago to teach. I was a forensic scientist doing DNA analysis for eight
years - so if anyone has any forensic questions or would like some info on
forensics in the classroom, I am more than willing to share all that I
know.
I am hoping to get started on the Reactions in Chemsitry next week and I
hope it can give me some ideas and suggestions since I am starting from
scratch in this subject. I am so busy this summer teaching a forensics
camp and with two very small children at home. Any websites or insights
that anyone can share would be more than helpful. I feel like I am a
blank slate for the chemistry classroom.
