Nuclear chemistry is my weak point as far as demos/labs/activities. My state has no nuclear reactors, so my students are not familiar with that industry at all and are fearful of it.
I do a half-life activity very similar to the one on the video, except I do it with pennies (they don't get eaten!).
This video has inspired me to look for speakers to come in and share their expertise, since my school doesn't allow known radioactive sources to be brought in.
I have found an Atomic Veterans Association with WWII and post WWII veterans available to speak to students, as well as nuclear medicine professionals and geologists.
It's a start!
