Welcome to the Annenberg Channel.
We distribute programming all day, every day, on SES Americom's
AMC-3 (GE-3)- K 23 (H) located @ 87 degrees WL. The feed
is Digicipher II using "Virtual Channel Map" #15
and channel 514.
Note that the serial number and unit
address number of the DSR must be in the uplink computer
prior to tuning in the Channel. This is a one-time step.
If this has not been done, call 1-800-228-8030, extension
2.
The DSR-406 is a Digicipher II IRD capable
of receiving Multiple Channels per Carrier (MCPC) and Single
Channel per Carrier (SCPC) transmissions. However, firmware
prior to Revision "BC" will require a code upgrade
to operate with the PBS-initiated channel map. This code
upgrade can be done via satellite at the time the unit is
authorized, but because it must be done "real time," it
requires an appointment. Please contact the Channel at 1-800-228-8030,
extension 2, to arrange authorization and a firmware upgrade
if necessary. Please allow several days to complete this
step and ensure signal quality before attempting to record
a program from the satellite.
Installations and Tuning:
Connect the Audio and Video, S-Video or TV OUT as applicable
for your site. Power on the IRD and allow time for the unit
to power up through its self-test functions.
- Determine your firmware version:
- Press Options, 6-7-7-8-5 in sequence. The Diagnostics
Data 'A' screen appears.
- Check Line 3; if the numbers displayed are 000096 000096
000096 000096, or 000110 000110 000110 000110, call to
schedule a code upgrade.
- If the numbers displayed are 000096 0000BC 0000BC 0000BC
and 0000BC 0000BC 0000BC 0000BC, the firmware upgrade
is not necessary.

proceeding with the tuning instructions below.
