You have just seen one application of communication in the classroom. Reflect on the following questions, and answer one in light of the students and content you teach.
Questions to write and reflect about:
- How can you organize your mathematics lessons so that they foster communication in a variety of settings?
- What can you do to help students improve their ability to communicate their understanding of a mathematics concept?
- How would you evaluate the success of communication in your classroom?
- What are some advantages of having students work together as a whole class after they have worked with partners or in small groups?
- How can you communicate with young students about their misconceptions in a way that encourages learning?
