There are at least 15 possible ways to use 7/8 when the markers are in this arrangement. Here are three examples:

1. 7/8 = 3/8 + 1/3 + 1/6
Use 3/8 on the eighths track and move the marker from 3/8 to 6/8. That leaves 4/8 to use on other tracks, which can be done in the following way: 4/8 = 1/2, which also equals 1/3 + 1/6; move markers from 1/3 to 2/3 and from 3/6 to 4/6.

2. 7/8 = 1/8 + 5/10 + 1/4
Use 1/8 on the eighths track and move the marker from 3/8 to 4/8. That leaves 6/8 to use on other tracks, which can be done like this: 6/8 = 4/8 + 2/8; 4/8 = 5/10 on the tenths track, and 2/8 = 1/4 on the fourths track; move markers from 0 on the tenths track to 5/10, and from 0 on the fourths track to 1/4.

3. 7/8 = 5/8 + 1/4
Use 5/8 on the eighths track, and move the eighths marker from 3/8 to 8/8 (1). That leaves 2/8, which also equals 1/4; you can move the fourths marker to 1/4.
