I think students would enjoy the hidden polygon activity and I believe they
would view it as solving a puzzle (which is fun for children). The activity
would help students better understand the properties of some polygons. I
can also see determining if all the polygons are found a bit challenging for
2nd graders. It may be beneficial to do the activity as a whole class and
have cut out pieces that can be provided to help them piece the "puzzle"
together first. This will provide a visual representation. After, they can
do an activity in small groups where they draw the polygons within a larger
polygon.
