Topic Description: In the very first workshop, one of the instructors Kim McCleod mentioned that when she saw a new universe by looking through her telescope that it was like looking at the birth of that universe, but isn't she assuming that nothing happened when the light was traveling to us? She said the light took 200,00,000 years to travel to our planet.

It seems hard to imagine that it could take that long for something moving so fast to reach us. I teach the big bang & a lot of my students have trouble making sense of that idea. Does anyone have an idea of how I could make it more concrete?
