| Event | Monarch PEAK Migration |
| Date of Sighting | 08/28/01 |
| Comments | Hundreds of Monarchs in two trees in my backyard and also in the trees of the neighbors. I didn't realize Monarchs migrated, and noticed all the butterflies when my neighbors called my attention to it. There are so many of them it's almost unreal. As of September 6th, we are still seeing the Monarchs. Tuesday evening, 9/4 we had hundreds of them roosting again in our trees; I would say not quite as many as 8/28, but they were still in awesome numbers. My neighbors tell me that they have frequented my trees in past years, in fact the school brought kids to see them. I don't know what is so special about my tree or the neighborhood, but this is the first year I have seen them. |
