| Comments | On the dates of 9/15,9/16,and 9/17 monarchs were observed migrating south along the Hudson River flyway in Lenoir Nature Preserve in Yonkers, NY. The totals for each day were less than 10 monarchs a day compared to totals of 120 to 150 on the same days the year before. The weather was clear and breezy and temperatures in the 60's to 70's . We are located overlooking the Hudson River facing the palisades on the other side. Much of our monarch migration is done during the hawk watches that take place as the hawk migration gets into full swing. |
