| Comments | Rochester,NY was between a cold front from Canada and the west margin of hurricane Floyd's rain shield on 9/16/99. Several hundred monarchs were observed, in groups of from three to eight, moving south on the air currents. It caught the attention of the media, and since the butterflies were riding the high currents, they could be observed through office building windows. |
