| Event | Monarch Migration Sighting |
| Date of Sighting | 09/12/99 |
| Comments | As my family and I traveled on Memorial Drive from Manitowoc to Two Rivers, we sighted 40 Monarch Butterflies in south-westerly flight in a 10 minute period. After arriving in Two Rivers, we stopped at a gas station and asked the attendant if he was seeing Monarch Butterflies. He responded, "yes, hundreds of them today!" This gas station is located about 1/2 mile from Lake Michigan in Two Rivers, WI. As we continued our trip, and drove further inland, our sightings dwindled to about 1 or 2 butterflies in a 5 minute period. These sighting were at around 11:30-12:00 noon. |
