| Comments | After planting multitudes of milkweed and being disappointed this summer with no chrysalis and only a few caterpillars that were probably eaten by our local toad, I was thrilled tonight to see (I don't know how many there were, but there were a lot!) monarch butterflies flitting over out rooftops and settling in the trees. It was hard to keep count. Originally, I thought they were our resident bats until I noticed the orange color and got the binoculars. Cool!!! They circled over and over and settled in in the larch and oak trees on our property at about 7:30 p.m. I am thrilled to have witnessed this! |
