| Comments | 2/25/99 Northern Harrier[female] sighted. This is a sure sign that migration has begun here in Central Maine. This sighting is right on target compared to past years. However, since it has been a mild winter here and the rivers have not frozen over in places, we have a fairly large number of water fowl wintering over, particularly mergansers. A fairly large flock of robins has been observed to have stuck around for the winter. Eagles move from the frozen lakes to the Kennebec River area. |
