| Comments | Here's a one minute, 51 second video of three male monarchs nectaring and patrolling a roadside patch of speciosa milkweed along Highway 50, inbetween Sacramento and Lake Tahoe on June 22, 2012. The monarchs pretty much ignored passing streams of fast moving cars, trailers motorcycles and 18 wheel semi-trucks. Two male monarchs can be seen nectaring at the beginning of the video, then at the 44 second mark, a third male arrives and starts nectaring too (swallowtails can be seen too). |
