| Comments | The first (male) Baltimore Orioles arrived this weekend at my lake property 100 miles NE of Madison, WI. They are voraciously eating grape jelly at an amazing rate...I have 7 2-cup feeders in various locations on the property; and they empty these every couple of days! They are consuming 6-7 quarts of jelly per week! I surely hope the manufacturers do not raise prices, as they have SIGNIFICANTLY on the natural suet, peanuts, and sunflower seeds that I regularly feed many other bird species....This has not diminished my feeding practices, but I'm sure it would if I were living on a very tight budget. It's tragic that these recent price hikes will significantly affect the way many will be feeding their birds. |
