"For 138 years now, the Weary Club has been keeping track of the official 'ice out' date for Lake Pennessewassee (that's Norway Lake to the uninitiated). The record can be seen on a wall in the clubhouse on Main Street
"This year, the date was March 23, beating out the old record, set the year before last, by one day."
