Ken Moore reports: "We've been unseasonably warm all winter from October until now except for one 5 day period about two weeks ago. We don't have any snow on the ground except in little licks where a snowbank may have been after one of our many winds. We've had numerous chinooks this winter with winds most days in the 50 - 60 kmph range with many, many days with the winds to 100 and the odd day when the wind has been over 100. (Yesterday, a bit to the west of us the wind was clocked at 130 kmph.) We have a few of our winter visitors about ... Snowy Owls, Rough-legged Hawks, etc., but nothing out of the usual. I note that Lethbridge reported a robin during the Christmas bird count which was held Dec. 27th, 2011.
When do I expect to see my first robin of the year? Haven't a clue. When will I hear the first robin song? Even more clueless." When do YOU think I'll see my first robin?
