Naturalist Margot Hervieux reports: "It has been an unusual winter. We had record breaking snowfall in December and then a week of plus 8C in late January. We are now settled into more typical weather with temperatures between -5 and -10C in the daytime and -15 to -20 at night with over 2ft of snow still on the ground. It is hard to imagine that all this snow will be gone in April but there should be some grass for the robins when they arrive around April 10th. The males usually start singing shortly after that if the weather is warm."
