| Comments | We sent two more 4th grade classes to search for monarch caterpillars near our school on Friday ,Sept. 10th. We found 16 more caterpillars. We had no one report seeing any butterflies. I have been out looking for monarchs for 19 years. We usually find 2-12 and then watch them change into butterflies. We also found several hundred near the town of Saratoga,Wyoming near the North Platte River. I am sad to report that this will be my last fourth grade trip because I am retiring. I think I will have many former students chasing the monarchs for a long time. Doug C Migration Highlight |
