| Comments | My new students in South Carolina know what a monarch butterfly looks like. I read them the Gail Gibbons story, Monarch Butterfly. During our reading group last Thursday about 1:30, Allie's eyes got as big as saucers as she rushed over to tell me she had just seen two monarchs on the butterfly bush. I was not sure my new third grader had correctly identified them, but after school I visited the bush and sure enough there was another monarch waiting for me.
There was no milkweed around, so I am hoping this was an early flier to Mexico! Migration Highlight |
