| Event | Monarch Migration Sighting |
| Date of Sighting | 10/19/03 |
| Comments | Migration along TX mid-coast continues after each front. Over three hundred actually tallied past a stationary count site today. Best driving count was 82 (in less than 5 minutes) while crossing the 3.1 mile Lavaca Bay Causeway at 55 MPH, all were "following" causeway from NE to SW. Small clusters seen yesterday on brush and trees near high tide mark along north shore of Lavaca Bay. Saw one coupled pair this evening where the male was VERY faded, looked like a February monarch. Backyard milkweed has eggs plus all instars, tagged several monarchs in backyard, many "drop-ins" all day! Started putting a "dot" beside the tag after renetting several the second and third time. Our backyard is one mile SW of the causeway!
