| Comments | Report from Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge northwest of
Austin. Oct. 11- temp in the 70's. few monarchs around until 2:25 pm - 3:00 when around 1,000 Monarchs came to roost. a steady rain began at 3:00 pm. Oct. 12- cloudy- saw dozens of Monarchs migrating south. Monarchs never came down to feed all day. temp around 80. Oct. 13- thousands of Monarchs on Refuge. did not see them feed in afternoon- they were in the trees. breezy day from the south. Contributed to Monarch Watch |
