| Comments | 144 monarchs sighted between 3 and 4 PM Sept 28 along a 15 mile stretch of Hwys 160 and 65 near Branson, MO. Often there were 5 or more flying together in a loose group. All were headed in a southwesterly direction. Many more uncounted individuals were observed on Sept 27 and earlier in the day of Sept 28. These numbers followed the passage of strong cold front on Sept 27. Gusty NW winds 10 to 15 mph characterized both days when the monarchs were observed. |
