| Event | Monarch Migration Sighting |
| Date of Sighting | 09/28/03 |
| Comments | A monarch flew through our backyard about 3:20 pm. This is the first one I have seen in a while. I counted 11 additional monarchs over the next 40 minutes. Some were flying abuot 10 to 20 feet up and others were nectaring on goldenrod and yellow coneflowers. All were flying in a southwesterly direction. Temp was in the upper 60's with N-NW winds 5-15 mph and mostly clear skies. A strong front moved thru late yesterday. A wet summer has resulted in abundant wildflowers. I will be checking the trees for monarchs later this afternoon. What a joy to have them pass our way on their jouney south. Migration Highlight |
