| Comments | Finally seeing some migration movement. Being in a new habitat and not the full flower gardens of the past, I wasn't sure if any monarchs would show up. But the last few days,I have seen some monarchs flying very fast, without much stopping at flowers.
Couldn't catch to tag.
I tagged the last of my raised caterpillars/eggs. Tomorrow(9/20) will be the last monarch to be released.
Numbers are way down compared to other years. But, being in a new area, I can see that next year--things will be better suited for the monarchs...much more milkweed, mature gardens and hopefully not so parched. |
