| Comments | The first Monarchs arrived in Ardmore the second week of August! The earliest they have arrived in the 12 years I have tracked them. But!!!! Right now, in my Monarch Sleeping Tree (a huge Oak tree on the edge of a 20 acre field of milkweed) there about 3,000 Monarchs curled up for the night! They have not reached peak, because when they do we see about 10,000 an hour! They do not spend the night every year, but often, and never in the Spring, only in the Fall.
We have heavy infestations of varigated Oak Leaf Cutter caterpillar this year, so I just knew they would fly by, but here they are!!
