| Event | Monarch PEAK Migration |
| Date of Sighting | 09/18/01 |
| Comments | We have an unobstructed view to
the north from our house. If I look back and forth and up and down
with my binoculars, I can see perhaps 100 Monarchs at a time, all heading south. Two hours after my earlier post, the "flow" had slowed to about 1/10th of what I indicated originally -- perhaps 10 in the sky at any one time. I assume there was a front moving in from the north with many butterflies taking advantage just at the time I happened to look out my window and then filed the original report. Now the sky to the north is essentially empty. We have a couple of places on the KSU campus where Monarchs congregate each year and I'll check each of them out tomorrow.
